Beyoncé News: Singer Wins Album of the Year at the 2025 Grammys

Beyoncé, the most decorated person in Grammy history, now has her first trophy for Album of the Year. The award recognizes Cowboy Carter, which released in March.“I just feel very full and very honored,” the 43-year-old singer said in her acceptance speech. “It’s been many, many years, and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, and every producer.” She dedicated the award to Linda Martell, the first Black woman to break through on the country music scene.

Her win comes after five previous nominations in the category, one of the most prestigious at the Grammys. Many people—including Beyoncé’s husband, music mogul Jay-Z—felt she had been overlooked in the past.

Cowboy Carter also won Best Country Album during the February 2 ceremony, as Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus received Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted,” their duet from the album. Her three trophies this year extend Beyoncé’s lead as the most awarded Grammy winner.
