[N-Photo] How did you make the move from architect to pro photographer?
[JW] Depends on the assignment I still work simultaneously as an architect and a photographer. That ability is giving me a lot of freedom with choosing the right job or client.
Both of these worlds are keeping me focused and sharp. I believe that being an architect first has helped me to become a much better photographer. Working on a multi million development with a team of specialists around you, taught me how to deal with stress and find simple yet innovative solutions to complex problems.
After training like that, a $50K photographic assignment is not that scary anymore.
I went into photography because in this field the creative pay-off is much faster. I don’

Jaroslav is a Polish photographer that hails from London. He has a Fine Arts background with a degree is Architecture–which taught him how to solve lots of complex problems. That problem solving helped with the founding of this studio: AurumLight (WARNING NSFW LINK). The studio specializes in limited calendars, advertising, and conceptual photography; and they’ve had many campaigns in Europe and the US.
So when we found Jaroslav’s Milk PinUps, we were very intrigued as to how they were done. We talked to Jaroslav for this latest edition of Creating the Photograph.

Jaroslav Wieczorkiewicz (1980) is a London-based photographer and artist renowned for his innovative and visually stunning photography. He is best known for his liquid photography work, where he uses real liquids like milk, water, and paint to create dynamic and surreal effects. His most famous projects often feature models wearing "liquid dresses," which are meticulously crafted by capturing the liquid in motion and compositing multiple images into a single, flawless visual.
Jaroslav, has background in Fine Arts, degree in Architecture, and wide array of experience. He is the founder of AurumLight Studio, a creative group specialising in high-speed photography and commercial projects. His work combines technical precision with artistic vision, and he frequently conducts workshops to teach his unique techniques to other photographers.
One of his standout projects is the Milky Pin-Ups series, where he recreated classic pin-up art styles by designing outfits entirely out of splashing milk, showcasing his mastery of both photography and digital compositing.
