A Macdara Vallely film

This compelling and timely documentary is about New York City’s Transit workers in the 1930s through to the 1960s. Most of these workers were Irish immigrants, and the film and charts their struggles against dangerous working conditions and discrimination to achieve the American Dream.

Their story takes place against the backdrop of a turbulent period in American history.  Their leader, Michael J. Quill was a controversial figure in his day.  The film speaks to issues that continue to affect American workers today, such as job safety, pensions and security.

The film is nearing completion, and will premiere in 2025.

The film’s producers are Macdara Vallely and Paul Miller. Miller is an industry veteran whose many film credits include Lone Star by John Sayles. The two have worked together previously on the award winning feature film Babygirl (2013).
